Our project area of Baddi Himachal Pradesh has breathtaking views. Since ages, the mountain people depend on natural spring and streams to meet their water requirements. The area has abundant of fresh water bodes. These resources are under tremendous pressure due to environmental degradation, human negligence paired with his rapid thirst for urbanisation. Baddi is an industrial area. Economically poor people migrated to the area in search of jobs and established their temporary settlements. These settlements are devoid of even basic amenities and hence called aeurooeslumsaeuro. Industries and increased human population is pressurizing the already depleting natural resources and causing a serious environmental, health and amp; sanitation problem. RUCHI has worked towards protection and development of these fresh water spring for more than 10 years, but still a lot has to be done.During leisure time, volunteers can visit the Rock Garden of international fame in Chandigarh, Pinjore Garden, Kasauli and Shimla hills.
Volunteers with experience in water conservation will be given a preference.
