INTERCULTURAL AND LANGUAGE
MLTV 1802 INTERCULTURAL AND LANGUAGE (ICL) – NAKHON RATCHASIMA, learning and sharing the intercultural and language still are the main purpose. The volunteers can share and learn culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and children in school. Also, the volunteers will know more about Thailand during working in the local community.
Nowadays, English language as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people, especially Thailand as a tourism country. After the project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for seven years. The great volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools where they are in the poor local community. Many local people can improve their English skills through a group by group of volunteer, or at least they try to speak the English language more. They dare to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover, the volunteers have changed the local community used to stay lively and trustily with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adapt the way of life with the new cultures from the volunteers who are like an intercultural ambassador.
In 2018, the project was created. It means this year is the first year, so we need the volunteer, who is the most important part, to start the activity together with us. The volunteer can give the opportunity to children in school, make them get inspiration to speak English and learn your own language. The volunteers can share more about the different culture. Facing the new thing is a challenging of the life. Learning new culture makes you improve yourself, and sharing your knowledge and culture make them open their window to understand how differences we are.
Creative teaching English – Creative teaching is important to recognize, teaching certificate does not need for specific quality of volunteer, but the creative idea is the one of yours.
Aims of creative teaching are given the chance for the student in school and people in the village or the place nearby and have the opportunity to communicate with different language, touch difference culture, believing.
Volunteer will stay at volunteer’s house in school. Volunteer expects to eat Thai food, have lunch at school canteen and takes turn cooking with a local volunteer.
SPECIAL REMARKS Cultural respect, open-minded and love to learn and share. No smoking and drinking on the project site.
